The rind is brown and granular. Le Gruyere de Gruyere has got since 2001 an appellation to protect the product. Fruity, nutty, this cheese develops a lot of different complex flavours.
Le Gruyere de Gruyere gets its name from the Swiss canton where it is come from. Gruyere is a hard cooked pressed cheese around 35 kg from Switzerland. The cheese is tasty, with some roasted notes and a hint of salt.
