Named wine region of the year in 2017, the Southwest of France offers treasures in the form of undiscovered appellations and little-known grapes. It is a very heterogeneous region, spreading from the south of Bordeaux to the city of Toulouse, including the Pyrenees area. South West wine region is composed of five different ‘subregions’ – Dordogne & Bergerac, Garonne, Gascony, Bearn and Basque Country – each with its own distinctive character, climate and grape varieties. If you love a wine that screams ‘terroir’, this region is calling for you.
