After a decade of working in close relationship with the best domaines in France, LQV has built up a great portfolio of direct allocations. Often rare and thought after, wines on allocation can get sold out pretty quickly once on the market. Buying these wines En Primeur is a great way to secure some volumes and to save money!
What is En Primeur wines?
Traditionally used in Bordeaux to describe how the wines are set to market, En Primeur is the
French way to say future wines. This system enables the estates to sell their wine through allocations before the wine gets bottled and released. Nowadays, with more and more prestigious domaines working with allocations all around France, wines merchants can extend the En Primeur way of working to a wider range of wines than Bordeaux only. Still in their ageing process, these wines have the advantage to be available at special prices, cheaper than what they would cost once bottles would hit the wine shops shelves. If the traditional Bordeaux En Primeur are sold two to three years before release, we’re speaking about roughly six months for the other regions.
